Just waiting, three flights up in New York City,
listening to sirens, and the clicking noise of
freezing rain hitting window glass.
Early this morning, suited up appropriately, I took my trusty shopping cart out to the streets for the walk to Trader Joe.
The line was long, the shelves well stocked, and the shoppers I spoke to--congenial. Outside again, a whole cart full of cut flowers had been left with the trash--free for the picking!
Home again with all I need for the siege,
if it is as the local news predicts.
Meanwhile, my Massachusetts friends, also at home and well prepared, are reporting that snow is indeed falling...falling on the fir trees, in the fields and on the roads,
just the way it's s'posed to.
