WORK
All day preparing the long entrance hallway for the morning arrival of my Super who has promised to repair the massive patch of cracked ceiling above the door--thanks to the new
elephant-footed neighbors above me.
This involved moving coats and other outdoor equipment, a small shrine to Buddha and all the many pictures which lined the walls, to other parts of the apartment, rolling the rugs back and, with the help of a tall neighbor, closing off the area with plastic and tape to minimize the dust of messing with a 100 year old plaster ceiling. Suffice it to say that my dear superintendent "Elvis" is a bit of a bull in a china shop.
There will be hours of cleanup after he's done.
Then I will have a wait before returning things to place until he comes back to paint. he will try to get out of that detail, but I intend to insist in the friendliest way.
So I'm quite exhausted.
Never the less, and in spite of the impending
snow storm, I'm ending this post with a song:
