WE GO ON

Dancing Shoes
(thrift shopped comfort)
Lyrics
So much going on out there
Leaves us hanging in the air
And it's all that we can do
To face each day and see it through
Life's a dance
Put on your dancing shoes, take a chance
You can't shut your eyes to pain
Faces crying in the rain
You can't keep it all inside
You need some way to let it ride
Life's a dance
Put on your dancing shoes, take a chance
When you're all over
When you know you've done all that you can do
Put on your dancing shoes
It'll see you through
Voices shouting in the street
Life lived to a ragged beat
Someone's world is tumbling down
Who's the saint and who's the clown?
Life's a dance
Put on your dancing shoes, take a chance
When you're all over
When you know you've done all that you can do
Put on your dancing shoes
It'll see you through
When time is flying
When you know there's no end to these modern blues
Put on your dancing shoes
It'll see you through
Life's a dance
Put on your dancing shoes, take a chance
When you're all over
When you know you've done all that you can do
Put on your dancing shoes
It'll see you through
When time is flying
When you know there's no end to these modern blues
Put on your dancing shoes
It'll see you throughKeep on dancing
Keep on dancing
Keep on dancing

January Fourth
Here comes the sun

Trips to the post office, bank and Grocery store. Weather remained warm and moist. More rain predicted and a feeling of weariness in my bones, accompanied by a deepening weariness of world woes, despite the great good news of a hundred, diverse in every way, vital women arriving in Washington to join in. My mind got stuck on sadness, on the details of recent terrible events and dangerous divisions world wide.
WEARY
I find comfort in liberal nap taking.

January Fifth
Rain
In bed all day, up and down from waking predawn to sundown. The cumulative tension of 2018, endless solicitations for donations I could not offer during a demanding December, with end of year tasks to complete and many gifts to be delighted by and grateful for, arrival at a 'new' year rang out. Energy lasted a few more days 'till I suddenly found myself requiring the balm of forgetfulness, some sweet oblivion and uncluttered time to exercise that neglected 'let-go' musculature.

6PM
Now neighbors are evident and gearing up for Saturday night, each with their own agendas, which will reveal themselves to me through the evening hours and possibly past midnight into Sunday. Meanwhile, three episodes of "Victoria" on Masterpiece Theater are being re-broadcast 'till 10 O'clock. That will serve nicely as my ambient sound tonight.

I understand the sense of accumulated tensions and sadness from the year. But this week, I did feel a little hope -- even though I believe those who say it's gonna get a lot worse before it gets better.

In any case, that's not why I opened the comment box -- it was to say how much I loved seeing you on the zendo bench -- how LIT your new sneakers are!

ah thanks for the Stevie Winwood song lyrics and sound, "Can't Find My Way Home" always calms my soul even after all the years

Just to clear a slight confusion Dee--First I went to Dharma yoga where you see the photos of me and dharma on the bench, then to my Zendo which is further west...for the ringing of the bell ceremony which I couldn't photograph...the two photos are from after the ceremony. Not that it matters...just sayin'
