Late Christmas Night
Shot out the window as a Santa emerged from the precinct near midnight with a big bag of gifts and got into the police van to be driven somewhere. The photo as out of focus as I was in the heavy throes of a Christmas head cold. Coughing, sneezing and miserable. I felt alone. Not a sound in the building or a light in any window. I thought of talking on face book and nixed it. Thoughts of emailing someone rejected. Thought then I'd do a blog post, but no. Hardly anyone reads or comments and my head throbbing so I was nearly blinded by it. Took some remedies, boiled water to steam with. Then collapsed back to bed. Up and down for hours into dawn.
Today, somewhat better, I'm finishing Holiday cards and planning a trip to the post. The hot water is tepid. There's no heat in the pipes because the temperature is too warm for the thermostat to trigger.
Made it to the post in time, then picked up soup and some cough syrup before giving my battered old feet a treatment. My bum right knee prevents me from twisting into position for nail cutting and I was ripping socks-that's how long it had been.
Hanging on my door, chocolate treats from another long time neighbor and the heat is back up. I'm still hacking and wheezing away but I'll be back under the comforter soon. No temperature, however if I'm still poorly tomorrow, I may contact the Doctor.

The doctor may be a good idea, glad you were able to take care of your toes and that you have neighbors that hang chocolate on your door and I hope you feel better soon...
