It's the season when we tell children the tales of Santa and
his flying reindeer. But this year why not tell the story of the sacred
"Deer Mother" of old? Taking flight from the darkest longest night of
the year, it was she who brought the life-giving light of the sun back
to the land, in her horns....enjoy this short Video:
It has begun, begun in the dark darkness that deepens till dawn dawn loosening light that wakes wakes within the sleeping world worlds, all seamless as dreams dreaming wave on wave of light light fading then back into night
<> 2 cups granulated sugar 2/3 cup evaporated milk 12 regular marshmallows (not minis) 1/2 cup unsalted butter 1/8 teaspoon table salt 1 cup (8 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional) 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract X Grease or line an 8x8-inch pan with nonstick foil.
(use glass pans if you have)
Set aside.
In a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat, combine sugar, milk, marshmallows, butter, and salt. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture is bubbling. Boil and stir for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
Stir in chocolate until completely melted. Add walnuts and vanilla. Spread into the prepared pan and cool for 4 to 6 hours in the refrigerator before cutting. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator or at room temperature.
