SWEET SOUND SUNDAY

"Multi-Dimensional Magnificence"
The West Village Chorale at Judson Memorial Church
Spring Concert
June 5th 2016

"Inspired by the many concerts produced by the American composer and conductor Greg Smith",who was himself "inspired by polychoral traditions from San Marco, Venice Italy, to the stereophonic tendencies of Charles Ives."

Ominous sky over Washington Square

The choir surrounded the audience and was in constant movement between and sometimes during some of the choral works.  This device gave us multiple perspectives on the pieces.  Sometimes the sound was right behind me, and then it was surround sound.  A very powerful listening experience, and a rigorous choreographic feat for the performers.  The choir continues to ripen and mature.  This was my third experience with them and I look forward to many more.

After the Concert
The sky over Washington Square was gorgeous
 Stunning
 Beautiful Beautiful Beautiful
While staring in wonder, we encountered another woman, coincidentally also named Michelle (Lerner) admiring the view.  She joined us since she was going in the same direction and we found we had much in common.  One more magical moment appeared when we found a perfectly healthy discarded Gardenia plant which, since she lived nearby, we entrusted it to her as we headed over to Waverly Place to the White Oak Tavern bidding farewell to our new friend.  Michael and his friend Lauren had some food and libation, while I stuck to water with a lemon twist, having sated myself at the sumptuous after concert feast.
We parted for our trips home, she heading West to the subway, while Michael and I boarded the third Avenue bus.

NO COINCIDENCE

I think we notice what we notice because our attention is drawn to what already concerns us.
I didn't mention in the previous post the call I placed to The Wild Bird Fund the day before the nest removal operation at my place.  It's a not for profit group in New york.  I wanted to know what to do had I found either an egg or fledgling in the nest.  A very nice fellow named Greg called back after the whole thing was over and resolved without tragedy.  He was happy about the outcome and said if I had any more questions, feel free to call again.
Last night, very late, I took a constitutional around the block to let go of excess energy before going to bed.  What I encountered on the next block, was a juvenile banded pigeon set out to make its own way in the world.  Likely it had fallen from a nest.
A young man who lives in the building there was walking his rescued dog named 'Mustafa' (it means the chosen one in Arabic).  We conversed about the pigeon and he said he'd keep an eye on the situation.  Fortunately there's a scaffolding, and it's not cold.
Meanwhile, I hot-footed to a local all night store that knows me and begged pens and paper, made a sign (note the misspelling of juvenile), and placed it.
Passing on toward home, I noticed the red tulips have risen despite neglect.  How glad that made me.
Late as it was, I placed a call again to the fund and left a detailed message with the location,  They have my number if they want to phone me back.

VISION INTERRUPTUS

NO PICTURE
Suddenly no image on You tube videos
Sound?--Yes
Picture?--No
Forty minutes trolling through the help issues and I'm told again and again that my password doesn't match my email.  It does.  Works for Blogger and email,  Used to work fine for You tube, but doesn't seem to today.  I also note my You tube additions to blogs are black screen too.
Maybe this coincidence means something on the day I've been informed that there is not just the suspected cataract in my right eye (like seeing through a Vaseline scrim)
but that there's also one (not yet very visible to me) in my left eye, indicating a blurry future eventually  (though I will be getting the right one taken care of surgically).
Most likely it signifies nothing but itself--the charming, frustrating whimsy of the ever changing Internet and all it's systems, sometimes moving just out of reach of my ability to upgrade.  To further astound me, the blog video pops in!
That's what I mean by 'whimsy'.
Enough,  I'll investigate further later.
