Not All Meadowlarks Sing The Same Song (both varieties are sampled here)
Two distinct species in the United States: They look almost exactly alike, but their songs are easy to tell apart.
Eastern Meadowlark
Whistles a melody of about four or five notes,
simpler than most bird songs.
Western Meadowlark
Sings a different sort of song,
complicated and difficult to reproduce,
with doubled notes, and a gurgling quality.
