Mammalian Muse Thursday WHAT INTERESTS ME TODAY

Mammal Musing
I'm on TV
in the PC Richard's Window on 14th Street

The Pledge of Allegiance Story
which opened yesterdays
five minute
Writers Almanac Broadcast
"In 1892  the Pledge of Allegiance was read 'en masse' for the first time
by more than two million students."

Photographs
I've been snapping images that confront/assault us
in public spaces--here are a few

How irrelevant they seem to me
in relation to the lives of the real people I know
Maybe some folks are hording gold
but they don't tell me
Is this You now?

Ted Talks
Caught my  rapt attention for thirty minutes:
What Do Babies and Children Think?
"Babies and young children are like the R&D
(research and development) division of the human species."
Research explores the sophisticated intelligence-gathering
and decision-making that babies are really doing when they play.

Performance Art
Thanks to Jude who posted a beautiful, meditative performance

Performance art can be any situation that involves four basic elements:
time, space, the performer's body, and a relationship between performer and audience. In this unique and thought-provoking performance experience,
using the dimensions of his body as measure, Orrico references geometry, biomechanics, endurance, and ideas represented by da Vinci's Vitruvian Man.

the images in public spaces always fascinate me. I have gleaned so much inspiration in terms of color, shape, design, words, etc. that transforms into something I will use in my art. may not be the intent of the advertiser but it's out there and I can't help but be inspired.
