Primate Muse Tuesday GLEANING AND GATHERING

Primate Muse
The Gleaners
by Jean Francois Millay
1857

I went a Gleaning one Fine day
Collecting gradually, and bit by bits,
leftover things and harvest gifts.
Gathered Treasure
Besides the gleanings, there are four wonderful squashes
purchased for $1.00 at a nearby church, where
 Holy Spirit lights the way
  What a cornucopia of choice
One very special squash I've named
"Excellent Edna"
 Garden Gifts
This young bush might be good for dyeing cloth
Looks like it might be
Lavender-Rosemary-Ginger Sage-Rue
Ginger Sage
False Indigo
 Sky Signs
A pumpkin sun
for days to come
A Halloween mask
heart at its center for magic to enter
Ah, it was a lovely trip!

Love Edna and the cloud mask- so observant! It really is about slowing down and enjoying what is around us, huh? Thanks for this reminder.

Looks like a joyful season :)
The left side of the mask looks like a heart!

Excellent Edna is amazing. Would be nice if she could be preserved.

Look at the labels sweetie-The mask has a heart at the center and the pumpkin a stem at the top (That's what I think I saw :-) But then I was having such a fine time--and I think the squash is goof for months and maybe won't even shrivel at all. I bet there's a way to shellac it or something. But, everything comes and goes--so, we shall see.

“I died a mineral, and became a plant. I died a plant and rose an animal. I died an animal and I was human. Why should I fear? When was I less by dying?”

ear Nandes--a famous Rumi Poem and I meant to repost but went away and Judy sent an email asking and also did me the favor of pointing out that each time I was often actually (in other places) typing dying when I ment dyeing which was helpful. I thought she might add it in to her blog where I posted- but I will when I can find it. I am glad to hear from you whenever you comment, and glad you read it even if you don't comment. I am all over the place with my interests from day to day. I read yours too with great interest though I don't often comment either. Be well.
