Primate Muse Tuesday IN A MUSING MOOD AGAIN

Primate Muse

I saw a butterfly on the bus last night.
She is my primate muse icon today.

The theme is change
 Change focus to see
Change costumes from drab to dramatic
Change the world with your smile
 Change yourself into yourself
Change it all up every once in awhile
America
--15,000 BC--

Best time to be Alive on Earth

Lucy Kellaway argues in this provocative essay at Intelligent Life
"There were a few disadvantages to the hunter-gatherer lifestyle.
Your chances of being ripped limb from limb by a wild animal were greater than if you live in, say, Toronto in 2011.
And when you got fed up with chatting to fellow tribes folk
(or having sex with them), you couldn’t watch “Downton Abbey”.
On the other hand, you were most unlikely
to die from obesity-related diseases or get blown up by terrorists.
And you wouldn’t have felt obliged to employ a therapist
to help with low self-esteem
brought on by the fact that your back view
isn’t as trim as Pippa Middleton’s."

Read it (entertaining if the referents are Canadian--still applies)

We primates are so overwhelmed by the prolific offerings
our culture constantly throws, imposes, impresses upon us,
it's a wonder anyone remembers who they really are,
and that some find it perfectly acceptable to just be that.

Lets Here It For
The Common People
Lets drink to the salt of the earth

OH DEAR, BLOOD SUCKERS! I only encountered innocent kids and my writing group where we did various Halow'een themed prompts and ate terrible sweet things. I was home by 9 and locked down in my own cozy comfort. Some young silly neighbors came home drunk around 3 AM but only made noise as they dragged their weary selves up to their abodes to collapse.

Salt of the Earth...the best kind of People!
We had 4 small groups...last one teens, one not even in costume - none of them even Said anything! NO Trick or Treat from them :( Boo!
And one of the tiniest sweetest little golden fairy girls you ever saw!!! Made up for the big boys :)

Hey Nancy--seems to me those teeny fairy girls have been making up for big bad boys a long time in this world. Ha! Teens are silent. It's a condition of hormonal distress. It passes.
