NOT PASSIVE
Mahatma Gandhi lead many peaceful rebellions against oppressive governments, first in South Africa and later in British-controlled India. At first he called his strategy "passive resistance," but later disavowed that term because it had negative implications. He ultimately chose the Sanskrit word satyagraha, meaning "love force" or "truth force."

"Truth (satya) implies love," he said,
"and firmness (agraha) is a synonym for force.
Satyagraha is thus
the force which is born of truth and love."

not really sure why i'm seeing most of this post twice, but anyway...i think it would be nice, in the spirit of non-violence, if we could learn not to be so judgmental of other people's choices in life. i truly believe that being so judgmental with words, if expanded out far enough, leads to physical violence. i would love to know what Ghandi would be saying of our world today. i wouldn't venture to guess at that because we really cannot know for sure.

HEY just back again and YES, they are already arguing and trashing one another in Religious dispatches as you will see if you revisit. I just added the post script. Human evolution is going to depend on the expansion of conscious and unconscious motivations. Survival hangs precariously in the balance.
