BRIGHT LIGHTS FOR DARK NIGHTS

The Poet, R.Nemo Hill
At The Launch of of his generous, and
beautifully produced new poetry collection
"When Men Bow Down"
available from
Introducing the evening at Queen Vic's, was
John Marcus Powell, a poet in his own right-
here, having caused the wonderful poet,
Adrianna Scopino, to laugh out loud
The poet, Rick Mullin, was videographer,
as he has been on many like occasions

Among the attendees, the poet, Jay Chollick-
in the background Nemo Hill signing copies
My own signed first edition copy is inscribed-
"The herons are flying through it right now"
perhaps referring to this poem, a favorite of mine

The night outside, under darkening skies, waned,
while we many old souls were bright lights, briefly,
in the vanishing firmament that is New york poetry

Thank you for sharing this with us Michelle.
What a lot of talent there is in the Hill family.
I love your laundry line header...I have a thing for laundry lines. Did you see the laundry line installation in Brooklyn?

Check back in the next day or two--I've asked for the link to the video of the live reading, and will add it in if I get it by Wednesday.

I'll be on a blog break up in Massachusetts after that from the 9th through the 23rd. YAY!!!

Thanks so much for sharing, Michelle. A wonderful poem evoking the magic of my favorite time of day. I try to be there in person whenever possible to capture that feeling. He said it so beautifully. You are lucky to be there with the poets!
