"Almost everything--all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure--these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose.
You are already naked.
There is no reason not to follow your heart."

This mac Mini is a 2005 model
Checked at no cost while I waited
The CD/DVD is broken and "can not be repaired".
I'm told that this units life is 5 years, therefore "Way beyond it's predicted lifespan."  It may last quite a while longer, but could crash at any time, therefore, it's "crucial to back up data regularly.  And, in addition, I'm informed that the back up unit should be ejected after use, and I'm shown how to do that each time I shut down.
My External data storage unit (time machine above) is "dead".  The new one (below) cost me $89.99+$7,99 tax and was configured to my system at no additional charge.

A new Mac Mini with 5 times the capacity currently costs $600.
I was also told that the practice of signing out of my sites, quitting the browser, backing up data, and shutting down each day is a good one, and may be responsible for the longevity of this computer.  So, I'm back in business for however long fate has in store. I have rather enjoyed my break time.

A delightful performance at
