JUST KEEP GOING

Once a fine old tree that hosted singing birds, now with many gashes and lost limbs, sprouts at it's base in front of another family run business that gave up the ghost in the carnivorous real-estate climate that prevails in our City.
It flowers.

This years mated pair of doves sunbathing at noon
I ventured out for an evening reading by poets who had participated in
Free Verse 2015 Poetry Issue of the Village Voice

Another New Day
The ornamental fireplace in a hidden boardroom of The Community Service Society housed in a building built in the 1800s, now for sale to the highest bidder.
A helpful, and sympathetic volunteer offered advice regarding recent complications with my Medical coverage and Senior Nutrition Assistance Programs.  It's a long story I won't detail more than to say it has resulted in a one time loss of $300 to pay non-recoup-able Medicare premiums previously paid by the State when I was temporarily removed in error from Medicaid extra help, and a reduction in food aid from $167 to $67 a month.
(tightening of an already too tight belt)

When winds shift suddenly, wise willows bend.
They do not break.

Before leaving I snapped this picture out the back window
where another ancient building is also up for sale.
(I'm a reflection upper left corner, holding the camera at center top)
Memories for fellow poet and collage artist, Bob Heman.
Image of his tiny chapbooks as he joins Face-book.
(He gave away one or two at each reading in a generous gesture of sharing)
Update on the vicious head cold that's held me in it's grip for the past many weeks: I'm very much improved and fairly exhausted from the siege.   This weekend was the sixty year marker of a significant family death that sent me back into the photo box to review materials long stored there.  I may share them all in another post.
Meanwhile the new week has begun.
"Finish every day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can.
Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."
-Ralph Waldo Emerson-
