PICTURE PERFECT

March 10th
Anywhere I hang my scarf,
I'm home.
"Understand clearly that to comprehend 'The self is itself buddha' cannot be called understanding buddha-dharma."
"If the comprehension that self is itself Buddha was the buddha-dharma, Zen Master Hogen would not have used that saying for guidance or made such an admonishment."

"From the time you first meet a good teacher, just genuinely inquire about the manners and standards for practice, single-mindedly engage in the way of zazen, and do not keep your mind stuck on a single knowledge or half comprehension."

"There will come soft rains and the smell of the ground, And swallows circling with their shimmering sound; And frogs in the pools, singing at night, And wild plum trees in tremulous white, Robins will wear their feathery fire, Whistling their whims on a low fence-wire; And not one will know of the war, not one Will care at last when it is done. Not one would mind, neither bird nor tree, If mankind perished utterly; And Spring herself, when she woke at dawn, Would scarcely know that we were gone."

All the Hemispheres
Hafiz

Leave the familiar for a while.

Let your senses and bodies stretch out
Like a welcomed season
Onto the meadows and shores and hills.

Open up to the Roof.

Make a new water-mark on your excitement
And love.

Like a blooming night flower,
Bestow your vital fragrance of happiness
And giving
Upon our intimate assembly.

Change rooms in your mind for a day.

All the hemispheres in existence
Lie beside an equator
In your heart.

Greet Yourself
In your thousand other forms
As you mount the hidden tide and travel
Back home.

All the hemispheres in heaven
Are sitting around a fire
Chatting
While stitching themselves together
Into the Great Circle inside of
You.

fab scarf, love the purple orchid & am surprised that the orange flowered Clivea miniata can grow in the North East of the US (the olea europea is the gnarly olive tree trunk next to it)!

So wonderful. May you be Light. How people should greet each other, is it a Buddhist blessing? xx

Yes, wherever you hang your scarf...love that. And the Sara Teasdale poem is wonderful. Glad you had a nice time away, leaving the familiar for the mostly familiar :) Thank you for your Light.
