Late last night, while depositing my own garbage, I extracted this lily stem from a discarded bouquet at the bottom of the pail. It will last at least another week. The wine bottle was also rescued.
One spent blossom
whose pistols carry pollen that, when crushed,
make a vibrant yellow.
Thereafter I add linseed oil and paint with the color.
