According to the Tibetan calendar,
today was an auspicious day for a haircut.
Perhaps just a frivolous gesture toward civility, unless one thinks of it as maintenance and maybe even a sacred duty. I've been going here for quite a long time and now, even though the irreplaceable "Andy" retired, I can manage with "Sam". It's a good cut, and still affordable at $18. Besides, I get a certain comfort in the continuity.
Meanwhile meet "Andy" and his brothers in this nice 3 minute glimpse from 2009. Lots of women and kids go too. In fact it was an older woman friend who sent me there in the first place.
