Reminders of Zen practice ("You can tell the depth of a persons awake-ness by how they serve others), of Tibet (landscape and 'Sublime Worlds'), of my local Library, of Michael Beiser and Boston ("Keep calm and start a Revolution"), of My friend Nayra (3 wolves), and dear Cynthia from 'Taking Root' in Vermont (banana tree)

MONDAY
As I turned the lock on my apartment door
-KRAaaaaaK and KABOOoooooM-
the rains came as predicted. I was thoroughly soaked before I even got to the bus stop. Downtown for my weekly writing group, the Moving Pen, the sky threatened for hours, and, coming home my writing buddy of many years, Nancy Beck, is smiling out at me from the First Avenue bus at 23rd Street. See the weird gold and pink glow on the buildings behind and the bus itself.

Wisdom
by Sarah Teasdale
"When I have ceased to break my wings
Against the faultiness of things,
And learned that compromises wait
Behnd each hardly opened gate.
When I can look life in the eyes,
Grown calm and very coldly wise,
Life will have given me the truth
And taken in exchange my youth."
