SO

So, This is How It Is

An old woman puttering around her rented kitchen,
thinking about food and replacing a burnt-out light bulb.
Outside, a barking dog breaks through early morning stillness.
She remembers canines loved and lost, rescued birds and felines too.
Dust laden photographs displayed on a shelf represent all those beings.

Horse Morning
We were visited by two handsome chestnut Police horses gleaming below as I leaned out to take my morning shot. They were parked right in front of my building. Unfortunately couldn't get a clear shot, so went down the three flights to the street, but they had moved on. I heard their receding clop-clops heading of to the East.

So, this is how it is; An old woman puttering around her chosen City,
thinking about art, all the art she has made, been given or stored.
Sirens pierce the chatter of many beings out and about tonight.
She remembers every being she's ever encountered,
faces and places that were not forgotten.
