Silent Saturday Muse BACK TO THE 1940's TRA-LA!

Silent Muse
It's snowing, and I am

"BLITHE SPIRIT"
by Noel Coward
He claims he wrote it in five days:

Rex Harrison and Constance Cummings play
a novelist and his second wife, who invite a professional psychic medium, Madame Arcati, (Margaret Rutherford) to dinner so Harrison can get some "tricks of the trade" secrets for a new novel he is about to write.
The non believing couple have Madame Arcati perform a seance and, lo and behold, she brings forth Elvira (Kay Hammond) Rex's deceased first wife. No one can see or hear Elvira except Rex.  Elvira is pretty, sexy and fun. Naturally, the second wife, wants her to go back from wherever it is she came. Then the real fun begins when Constance Cummings tries to get Madame Arcati to do an exorcism.

Margaret Rutherford is absolutely precious, Kay Hammond is sultry and sexy, and Constance Cummings plays her part well as the no-nonsense second wife. As for Rex Harrison--perfection!
