ORDINARY

With the heat index registering over a hundred
escape to the street is no escape at all.
I escape to the sky
then the internet and a pen

Wouldn't you?

As for the Political Circus...enough said.

Still, there are surprises.
I encountered this Fancy Pigeon

Young, haplessly wandering near the 2nd Avenue bus stop
searching for nonexistent food scraps. Apparently okay, it soon flew up into a nearby tree.

Another day and I caught this image.
There's a short story here.

Two fallen pieces of Potato vine...

...sprouted roots almost overnight.

My local health food store
is suddenly selling a large selection of CBD products

Interesting.
Curious, I did some research

Head winds of a storm swirling around. Hurricane 'Florence' is slated to bring rain and high wind to the city. It's gaining strength and may make landfall early this week in the Carolinas.

Meanwhile
Meditation practice at the Zendo

keeps me steady.

Butala Emporium
132 East 28th Street
where I get non toxic incense at the best price

...also sells  Ayurvedic Herbs

This is true every day when I walk out.
The pace of change is relentless.

Everything is ordinary once one adjusts. Here's what's next: Hurricane Florence is gaining strength and will likely hit the Carolinas with heavy rain and high wind to the NYC area. It's cooler.

A SPLASH OF CHEER

SUNDAY
A Fifth Avenue Sundown
 and
"All That Glitters"

A Chrismas Concert
West Village Chorale
at
Judson Memorial Church
With angels on high and carol of the bells, a silent night and virgin birth, Irving Berlim and beautiful brasswinds.  With joy and exhultation to spare, a lively weaving of Sacred and Secular song, and Oh, the divine harpist!

Did you know that a "Quodlibet" is a piece of music combining many different melodies, usually popular tunes, in counterpoint, and often in a humorous manner?  The term is Latin, meaning 'whatever', or literally, 'what pleases'.  They did one!

We enjoyed it.

'Archangel'
and
'Herself'
Here's a Christmas medley
