THROWBACK THURSDAY

Some of you know there's a tradition on Face book where folks dredge up their personal past or a historical past through photographs or other media to share.

2017
Fats Domino died of natural causes Tuesday October 24th at his daughter's suburban New Orleans home. He was eighty nine.

1957
Throwback to Robards Diner, Boston Post road on the border of Larchmont and Mamaroneck, New York.
A girlfriend and I used to sneak out of our apartments after dark and meet up to hang out there, play music, drink floats, smoke cigarettes and flirt.

After School
Television
Dick Clark's American Bandstand was without question the most popular teen dance show broadcasted nationally from the 1950s to the 1980s. This episode from 1957 when the show was still in Philadelphia features three couples dancing to the music of Fats Domino who was certainly one of the early pioneers of Rock & Roll.

Note
I was a troubled kid at 14,15,16. Theater saved me, got me on to an other path with new troubles to come, but I'm too weary with the present to add any more personal detail or archival photographs tonight and I know you'll forgive me.
