PLAY
As a noun, a play can be
a dramatic work,
a child's activity, or the start of an athletic match. I'm using the fourth set of definitions from the Oxford American Dictionary.

COSTUME
Cotton skirt, and heavy muslin shirt with hand embroidery:
needs to be painted, dyed and patched to cover stains
from twenty years of living through several generations.
