HERE'S SOME MEDICINE FOR WEARINESS

The natural world's
cradle and cure
*
It's coverings, it's creatures
*
that's where to
 FOCUS
*
ground on truths that underlie
our pitiful human condition
*
When cities
swarms of people
politics and deceits
cruelties
defeats of compassion
overwhelm
be reminded, renewed, refreshed, reset
re-tuned to reality there

- only there -

Nature at Worst or Best
does not disappoint
*
Those stately storms that come and go
that robin returning to nest each spring
clouds in wonderful array
struggling
street trees
a night breeze
*
the fall arrives
golden leaves
turn
to rot
food for soil.

- all this and more -

How brilliantly
blue black sage bloomed against blood red
hollyhock
*
dear rock doves scratch for food everywhere
in cracked cement
*
undaunted
Ialanthus

shooting
roots in all directions
throwing seeds in huge array

no matter whose intention to eliminate them from this
architecture
of stones

- all these and more-

sunsets

flooding eyes with last light
so many moonrise moments,
*
phase to phase
*
waxing or waning,
they delight
*
every thing

a
blessing

- all this -

everything

*
