WEEKENDS BEGIN FRIDAY and END SUNDAY

FRIDAY
My 'Front Yard'
Walk to Union Square
(color altered)
At night it lights up like a Ruby
Magnificent Maple
Listened to this wonderful musician
Union Square

Walking up Fifth Avenue, I stumbled upon this Google Pop-up store
displaying apps to explore and more
You can plug in to their Virtual Reality screens and ride for free
The front window decorated with an Eighties theme

Further on up Fifth Avenue
Victorias Secret
 displaying gifts for the Holiday
(seems the corset is back in a modern incarnation)

The light of sunset illuminates parts...
...against a storm threatening sky

Turning toward home, observed this
Shameless Hubris
Long shot on East 21st Street
Home, with my street rescued discarded bouquet

SATURDAY
This tree well feeder accommodates hungry doves

Onward past an Irving Place small Hotel
 Buildings Shrouded in construction nets
  to the farmers market
Recycling food scraps...
...and wearable goods at Union Square
What was once a famous Bank is now a Performance Space
Dappled clouds sweep across the sky
Vintage ford with Bicycle
I had a long conversation with a very nice man who survived two heart attacks. He was part of the crews setting up for a model shoot at the "Irving Plaza" - The Theater located at the southwest corner of Irving Place and East 15th Street in the Union Square neighborhood of Manhattan was built in 1888 and it served as a German language theater, a Yiddish theater, a burlesque house, a union meeting hall, a legitimate theater and a movie theater. Now, besides rentals, it's a live Music venue for rock and pop shows.

Cornerstone of the Welfare building
(someone left an unreadable message)
The Shrouded building again, against sky
One residential apartments building still has rose blooms
lovely
Across the street from my apartment
the School of Visual Arts new windowed atrium
One of the farmers I've known for years gave me an edible pumpkin I plan to halve Monday, clean seeds for drying, place halves face down in a pan of water to bake and then fill with seasoned rice and berries (yum)--Meanwhile it was movie night - "Ruby in Paradise" is the video we watched...see link.

SUNDAY
Rainy day at home resting, playing with images on the leaf letters project with the TV on to marathon images without sound.
FULL MOON--DAYLIGHT SAVINGS ENDS--GUY FAWKES DAY IS CELEBRATED- NEW YORK CITY MARATHON
The starting line for the race began at the Western end of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge on Staten Island. The finish line was in Central Park, just outside of Tavern on the Green. Later, the terrible news from Texas reached me. This light will burn all night in my front window for every grieving being.

BEAUTIFUL + Post Script

Sunlight
March 28th
Feeling somewhat better today. The rash is almost gone.  My angel yogi friend, Joanne, delivered groceries this morning and gave me the best ever hug. Hugs heal.
(Smiling on the inside)

Wisdom
March 29th
https://youtu.be/ezaBqCf0hv0
If the owl stands for wisdom
what does the Senate of the United States stand for
having just voted by a small margin that climate change
is not the fault of humans.  Was that wise?

When the screech owl screes
what does the rodent populace underground know?
To burrow deeper, to count it's blessings, prepare to die.

I have similar wisdom in these matters.

What matters then on this night,
that we be wrong or right in our endless calculus?
Perhaps the Western owl knows what the East does not.

I have no definitive answer, but to listen closely.

Humor
March 30th
"All those who believe in psychokinesis, raise my hand."
-Stephen Wright-
"What does a dyslexic, agnostic, insomniac spend most of her time doing? Staying up all night wondering if there really is a dog."

March 31st
Tomorrow is my clinic visit and tests, fortunately I will be accompanied to and from it by taxi cab with my dear and compassionate friend 'Archangel' Michael.
 ~*~
Update
Miserable day Friday for travel to the clinic but my dear friend used an application on his smart phone to get us a cab ! The usual forty minute wait to be seen and, after blood pressure and weight measurements, the cursory run through of questions and answers while the poor MD types into her computer forms, then a blood screen down the hall done by an excellent nurse, and we were off by 5Pm and home in a cab by 6 to share broth and conversation for a few hours. I will hear about the results in three weeks at a follow up visit unless I get a call that the doctor was alarmed about anything in particular.  I also got a referral to a clinic near home for an evaluation of my leg aches.  Today my yogi angel will visit around 4 with a few food items.

TENTATIVE EMERGENCE

Dragged the old gals bones down three flights and around several blocks
Spring is thawing though the temperature is frigid
A trip to the market for cream of rice and the makings for beef stew
To ProHealth for soluble electrolytes with Vitamin C
Sunlight improves everything.
Then, after dropping the packages off, I got a haircut!
A month of neglect cut away.
Exhausted three hour nap.
Many doctors appointments scheduled for the rest of March.--Looking forward to April

Remember When nights at the White House were like this?

RECLUSE

The larger world seems more and more remote.
Though moved by the week long, daily broadcast of Mandela celebrations leading to the State funeral, worried over the disastrous extinction of peoples, plants and creatures, myself, constantly on the brink of such; it all feels a foggy dream, an amorphous cloud of constantly shifting grains of sand, molecules of air, modes of being.
The promised snow turned sleety rain before it landed on City streets, and is ended with a drop to 21 degrees for nightfall.  Why do I long for snow?
Nostalgia for Currier and Ives, for all those imagined City scenes of another century, for the romantic notion of costumed elegance, of course.

Then, the commercially guttered reality drifts back into my consciousness, and all the wars.  The world, the world is infinite shades between the black and white.
I'm 'Phillipe Petit' traversing huge expanses of space with only a balance pole, vision adjustments, and a leaf or two for grounding to keep me here.
 Fruit helps,
it's instant sunlight!

Only eleven more days to Winter Solstice eve
