Primate Muse Tuesday PRIMAL PLAYTIME

Primate Muse
PLAY

As a noun, a play can be
a dramatic work,
a child's activity, or the start of an athletic match.  I'm using the fourth set of definitions from the Oxford American Dictionary.

1.
CHANGES
Re-imagine
THE EYES
Then taking
A FEW STITCHES
on the storyboard;
Much, much more to come.

The space in or through which a mechanism can or does move: "The steering rack was loose, and there was a little play."

2.
DYEING
COTTON SHEETING
Two thin layers
Filled with
COPPER, RUST, and MOLDY GOOP
made of all the gleanings of last Fall
BUNDLE WRAPPED,TIED
and
SUBMERGED
mostly walnut, leaf and twig dye bath
Now-the waiting

Figurative scope or freedom to act or operate: "Our policy allows the market to have freer play."

 3.
CHOOSING
Threads for
Spring tulip garden
on the pillow cover

Light and constantly changing movement:
"the artist exploits the play of light
across the surface."

4.
COSTUME
Cotton skirt, and heavy muslin shirt with hand embroidery:
needs to be painted, dyed and patched to cover stains
from twenty years of living through several generations.
I'll work on this in April.

 5.
EMBELLISHMENT
Tea and cumin dyed - Drawn on Habatai Silk, with
central vein stitched on one leaf.
More to come on this piece.

 6.
REWARD
Angel-food cake with shredded bitter-chocolate
and whipped cream too

7.
ENTERTAINMENT
"The Clairvoyant"
A fake music-hall clairvoyant meets a woman, and suddenly his predictions seem to come true!! Claude Rains and Fay Wray

Tomorrow is another day
I'll be going away for two weeks

I see lots of patience and it's rich rewards here today :)
there is a certain far sightedness to the natural dye process ... it will truly be a lovely unwrapping
