STILL ALL ABOUT THE EYE

Cool Sunglasses
Of course, I'm fine.

However, given my anxiety level, a nearly sleepless night, and no food or water, I was not so fine at nine A.M. to the professionals just doing what they klnow to do so well.  No one else in that surgery center was the least bit anxious, nor were they asking so many questions.  I doubt I 'threw' a loving  light toward them, but some of you must have.  I could feel it.

"We go up to Heaven and down to Hell a dozen times a day -- at least I do. And the discipline of work provides an exercise bar, so that the wild, irrational motions of the soul become formal and creative."

The anesthesiologist gave me a shot of something that actually knocked me out for a few minutes I think, and when I came back I didn't remember anything.  It was done.  The Patch at noon stays on four more hours.
There's a lesson in every event.  The nurses and other attendants were very nice and efficient, and I intend to work on my attitude.  I don't even remember their names for goodness sake.  I'm not yet reliably able to separate, stop taking it all so  personally.  It's just a system, and once in, one has no choice but to relax and let go. This 'intention' may take the rest of my life.
Sans Patch  on schedule at 4 PM, I peel it off, but he eye doesn't want to open entirely, and there's a definite 'scritcht' feeling like something foreign is in it.  Hence the instructions "Do not rub the eye."

Three different drops resumed, and continue tapering off through the first week in June.  I note I'm not seeing center correctly yet.  A three hour nap was in order.
Now, at 7 PM,  supper is cooking itself and a salad awaits.  I still see a blur and halo light.  I'm told that clears in time.  Tomorrow the follow up visit at another location.  Maybe soon those crisp visions of my world will emerge, and this will slide into history as "Much Ado About Nothing" (Shakespeare).  Meanwhile, what a blessing that the letters wore off my keyboard weeks ago forcing  a return to eyes-free typing until the new dawn.
