GAY PRIDE

SUNDAY
Fire birds on Fifth Avenue

Met up with my friend Michael for a mid afternoon glimpse of the parade
from the corner of fifth Avenue at 23rd Street
At 3PM still streaming from the start point at 36th Street
Flags of all nations
Proud and it shows
Feathers and more feathers
Diversity-Love-Families
"Proud to provide transgender health care"
He seems to be an advertisement for Macintosh
Signaling
Long lines to get around the crowd control barriers
Superman
Tired, hot and thirsty
Gorgeous
and still the miles to go to the Stonewall Inn at Christopher Street
Then West to the Hudson for Fireworks and dancing. Too warm for me to have worn my rainbow gear (hat, neck warmer, two wrist warmers, Mohair Wool)
Michael and I retired to my apartment a few blocks away, shared some cheese toasties, white wine and lemonade while we listened to Rachel Garnier.
(8 minutes)
