The Map

Metamorphosis by Adrien Brody
Video, sound, collage and paint, the multimedia installation was developed as a meditation on his artistic influences that represent his lifetime to date *45 years of experiences and labors of love. In an act of radical transparency, Brody reveals to viewers the sources of his imagery in the form of memories within a room at the fair with objects from his studio in a property he is transforming.

Selects and Scenes
Apology
I could not unscramble my scribbled notes. It was a massive glut of galleries and artists within a scant two hours and I was simply insufficient to the task. I needed an assistant-Ha!

One very interesting encounter of the evening: his name is Adetomiwa Gbadebo. I learned that Yuruba names are full sentences; Adetomiwa means 'next in liner for the crown' and Gbadebo means 'bring the crown to me'. It took seven days to decide on the name.
.
Yes, he made the jewelry and yes, he is an artist, but not showing at this event. Perhaps more about him at a later date.

Sad to say I couldn't make it to Frieze

8:30 PM
While waiting for the bus, I watched this Baseball game in honor of Cinco-de-Mayo
12th Avenue at 55th Street

Booze and seared meat stand for the players with Salsa music blaring and a passer by dancing with one of the servers
.
Then my bus arrived and I headed downtown to Chelsea Piers where another bus took me across to the East side and home by 10PM.

you did well at the Art Fair, in this era of very short attention spans art fairs are the latest way of seeing "Art" have visited the the Art Fair here in Sydney each time but it is an overwhelming experience, I prefer to visit the quiet space of a gallery to comtemplate the work with plenty of time and space
