MY 'STAYCATION' BEGINS

 DAY ONE
Since I did not escape hot steamy New York City yesterday, I was able to be present for Wednesday evening Meditation.
AND
A Sangha member gifted me this book by one or our teachers.
(see link)
I gleaned two of this 1958 slim treasure from the give away pile. One for me and one for someone else.
(email if you want one)
THEN
On the walk home I rescued three useful discards.

DAY TWO
The sun is playing with us today, coming and going,
appearing and disappearing.
Weather holds all the high cards and the low.
It does not discriminate.

The rains came and went, came and went and then a HUGE hullabaloo with sirens and honking horns about 9:30 p.m. When I looked out my front window, cars were lined up bumper to bumper and an ambulance was trying to get through. I went out to see what was happening. Second Avenue had been closed off for four blocks to let the City repave and all traffic backed up trying to use side streets. Crazy. I sat at the church a while and came back around 10 p.m. There are still some sirens, but the block has cleared and trucks moved on. Apparently Manhattan, soaked and overflowing, has lost it's rational mind tonight. Perhaps I have too.
Heartache In the News
Iran and these (dis)United States,
Shaking bones, waving dangerous threats.
Oh, say can you see?

DAY THREE
2 a.m.

Air Conditioner Check-filter red light is lit.  Got up, turned the system off, washed the filter and replaced it, but the light remained on. It's too humid to turn it off entirely. What to do? It seems to be working, but I'm worried I'll damage it if I leave it on. Got to check with the hardware store today. They cleaned the unit June 2017.

 AHA!
Read the instructions. There's a trick to turning the check-filter light off once the filter has been cleaned. So, no problem.
(((whew)))
Back to Sleep

 GLORIOUS WEATHER
all this longest day

5 p.m.
Stuyvesant Park

My beautiful, talented neighbor-Jenny Amanda Hurwitz
Played solo guitar on a set of her songs
This is her Hat

(My photo storage has reached a limit and I need to find out how to solve that without buying more storage. Luddite me doesn't even know where they are stored on the laptop. I took some nice full body and portrait shots but can't turn them to show. I need a tech-volunteer to come to my apartment and effect a fix. I'll work on it.
7:30 p.m.
We went on to Union Square where women guitarists were playing a set led by Ann Klein and my friend joined in. Then there was an astounding sunset, but none of the photographs are available, because unbeknown to me till I got home around 10, my sim-card was full.

Thank you especially for the Love is the Seventh Wave. I had forgotten about it, but it is both comforting and inspiring to hear it again. Good luck with your sim card.
