WAKENED
One minute past 1 a.m.Sunday September 6th 2020
Window View Photo taken at 7:30 p.m. Saturday September 5th
Wakened suddenly at midnight. Why? Just because. So I'm Listening to poetry-Lawrence Ferlinghetti, “I Am Waiting” from A Coney Island of the Mind.
Saturday evening I had a brief and cordial conversation with my nephew, assuring him thatI'm fine and asking after his well being, sending hugs to my Sister in law, his mother. I've seen nothing of either of them since my brothers wake last year in December. His Mass Card sat with other departed ones on the main altar at my zendo for 49 days-a comfort to me having the Sangha to share my loss with.

OLD PHOTOGRAPHS
I've been going through them looking for some to post for 'Throw-Back Thursdays" on face book. Here's my first 'boyfriend' in Yonkers early in the forties!
Gosh how I loved my 'Nana' Slater
and Aunt Pauline
and Nana's 'Cabin' in the Catskill mountains
where I spent many joyful Summer weeks
and I loved the neighbor girls pony
and my cousin 'Frannie' Weckerle
whom I idolized
Stars of my childhood are long gone
Looking at them now,
I feel that feeling of being loved
Teenage years were fraught with angst,
but I was loved then too.
Now I can love the girl I was. I understand her.
I've accepted and forgiven her ignorance.
Understanding will do that.
It just takes time.
Maybe more of this in another post.

"Go n-éirí an bóthar leat.
Go raibh an chóir ghaoithe i gcónaí leat.
Go dtaitní an ghrian go bog bláth ar do chlár éadain,
go gcuire an bháisteach go bog mín ar do ghoirt.
Agus go gcasfar le chéile sinn arís,
go gcoinní Dia i mbosa a láimhe thú."
May the force be with him always!

May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand."
