I met an interesting woman at Paris Review reading in June, and after some conversation we agreed to set up some reading-aloud lunchtime-sessions with her doing Edna St. Vincent Millay poems, while I do Dorothy Parker selections.
The First Edna and Dorothy Duet
was scheduled for 1PM today
Madison Square Park
As fate would have it
--we missed each other--
She was waiting at the North West entrance,
while I waited at the South West entrance
from 1PM-1:30, when I decided to circumnavigate
the park in an effort to find her, and she,
thinking I was not there, left the park,
and went back to work!
She had never given me her cell phone, and I have one I only activate when I need it, but when I got home there was a message on my land line.
We are both very disappointed,
but have agreed to meet up next week.

how disappointing but you captured some pretty flowers and it looks like it's a beautiful day in ny.
Well I'm glad a new plan is in the works!
it has been a difficult week all
around it seems...that off kilter
thing...out of sync and can't
get "in"....
i like that you thought to post
this. it gives reassurance somehow. the i am not alone thing.
love,
