LIGHT PATH

When the Dalai Llama went to Ireland
He visited Brigids well
 Imbolic
The Feast Day of Brigid is February 1st, midway through Winter, and meant to give us hope, to remind us that spring is on its way. Imbolc is mentioned in some of the earliest Irish literature and there is evidence it has been an important date since ancient times. Originally a pagan festival associated with the goddess Brigid that was Christianized as the festival of Saint Brigid.
Both are still Celebrated. These are calendar festivals.

  Fire
As the 'Fire of the Hearth' she was the goddess of fertility, family, childbirth and healing.  As the '"Fire of the Forge' she was like Athena, a patroness of crafts, especially weaving, embroidery, and metal-smithing.  As the 'Fire of Inspiration' she was the muse of poetry, song, history and the protector of cultural learning.

 Druid Mythology
"The infant goddess was fed with milk of a sacred cow from the Other world. She owned an apple orchard in the Other world, and her bees would bring their magical nectar back to earth."  I like this image very much.  "Born at the exact moment of daybreak, Brigid rose into the sky with the sun, rays of fire beaming from her head. She was the daughter of Dagda, the great 'father-god' of Ireland."  Sound familiar?

Coming here was a beautiful way to begin my day, thank you, Michelle.
Brigid's energy feels very strong right now, I expect her to walk into the room any minute.....
I will burn the old w/Yule greens in the cauldron -- and from that, light a beeswax candle to bring in the new.
Have a wonderful day, dear friend.
